High Art on the Way to Brighton

These bizarre thingmabobs were at the top of an enormous hill called the South Downs which we encountered while cycling to Brighton. I should point out that we didn't go as part of the popular London to Brighton charity ride. We went because we were a bit mad in the head.
Regarding the thingmabobs: I believe there was a box with pamphlets near them which explained all. Sadly, I'm writing this well after the fact and so may have the facts slightly twisted.
I do recall that the frames were made of wood which was covered with straw. And that it was extremely windy. I believe they were built by a consortium of pigs who were testing new building techniques. I'm almost certain that the pamphlet mentioned something about a fourth statue to be constructed of brick.
