Another intriguing Japanese baseball tradition is that you buy a brightly coloured, condom-shaped balloon and at the appointed time (and at no other) you let it fly off into the air. It's pretty cool. I missed the big initial flock because I was a bit slow on the uptake. The away side does it at one particular time and the home side does it at another particular time.
