A while ago, my tiniest boss asked if I had any pictures of myself back in my old life. And today, I ran across this lurking on my hard drive. I believe it was taken in 1992 at the airport in Fort Liard, Northwest Territories, Canada. I'm pretty sure we were on the way into the bush at the time to start a month-long treeplanting contract. I think the laurels were courtesy of a woman named Ursula. One of the fabled Wall Brothers used to rant about the loveliness of Ursula's belly at great length.

Yes indeed, you are a striking figure of a man. You remind me of some cartoon figure as a matter of fact, but I can't quite put my finger on who (whom?) at the moment.
I have just spent an enormous amount of money buying tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil again - they are coming to Vancouver in May of 2004 - I even convinced your grandmother to come with us. ('Us' being Dodo, your mother and my wee family of Patrick and Katie - who is not so wee now and is as tall as your mother.)
In any case, speaking of spending money ... I see I have your name for Christmas and was wondering what you have on your wish list this year. Your mother mentioned that you would like an odometer for your bicycle (did you have to get a new one - or did the stolen one magically re-appear?). She also mentioned that you had one but you didn't like it. Please keep me up to date. Also, Patrick has Vicki's name and I'm sure he would like a hint or two as well. Just to let you know, he was looking at the new maple sugar specials at Costco the other day,(they have it in a lovely glass 'log cabin' this year) and I really don't want to go that route again- especially as Vicki is not fond of maple sugar in the first place.
I am sure you are wondering why I am sending you this missive in this manner - my computer died a long and horrible death and took my email addresses with it to hell.
